Management Apprenticeships
Overview
Management skills are a major requirement for all businesses to develop, perform and remain competitive. Whether you need to formalise the skills of newly promoted team leaders or develop experienced managers into strategic thinkers, our management apprenticeships provide a structured, funded route to get there.
Locomotivation has delivered management apprenticeships for over 27 years, working with employers across hospitality, aviation, leisure, retail and business services. We understand that effective management training must fit around your operations — not disrupt them.
Why Invest in Management Apprenticeships?
Promoting from within is one of the most effective ways to build a loyal, capable workforce. A management apprenticeship gives your emerging leaders the formal skills and confidence to step up, while demonstrating your commitment to their career development.
Employers who invest in management apprenticeships typically see:
- Improved staff retention — employees who feel invested in are far less likely to leave
- Stronger team performance — trained managers set clearer expectations and resolve issues faster
- Better succession planning — build your leadership pipeline rather than recruiting externally
- Increased productivity — managers who understand operational efficiency drive measurable results
Our programmes are designed to be applied directly to your workplace. Apprentices bring what they learn straight back into their role, meaning you see the benefit from week one.
Available Programmes
We offer management apprenticeships at two levels, providing a clear progression pathway:
Team Leader — Level 3 (typically 15 months)
For first-line managers, supervisors and team leaders responsible for managing a team to deliver
results. Covers leading people, managing projects, building relationships and operational management.
Ideal for staff stepping into their first management role or experienced supervisors who need formal
recognition of their skills.
Operations Manager — Level 5 (typically 24 months)
For senior managers responsible for operational delivery, managing budgets, creating and delivering
operational plans, and leading multiple teams or departments. Develops strategic thinking,
decision-making and the ability to manage change effectively. A natural progression from the
Level 3 Team Leader programme.
Both programmes are awarded by Summit Qualifications.
How It Works
Our experienced Training Specialists — recruited directly from industry — work with you to design a programme that fits your business:
- Initial consultation — we get to know your business, your challenges and your goals
- Tailored programme design — our structured programme incorporates your workplace training where possible, so learning connects directly to the job
- Blended learning — a mix of digital and on-the-job learning, with one-to-one coaching and support always available
- Ongoing support — dedicated support for both the apprentice and their line manager throughout
- End-point assessment — we prepare your apprentice thoroughly for their final assessment
What Employers Say
“Mitch has certainly put his heart and soul into his apprenticeship, facing ups and downs in both his work and personal life. To see him finish with a distinction was no mean feat.”
